Facebook is the social network that is the easiest to use, with Twitter trailing behind in second place, according to a poll.
However, Webcredible, the company behind the poll, said that though Facebook stole 50 per cent of the votes, this is probably more to do with its popularity as opposed to its ease of use.
The research also highlighted the fact that 12 per cent of respondents people found the features of social networks generally 'inaccessible' and 'unintuitive'.
Five per cent said that Linkedln was the most user-friendly, whereas four per cent voted for MySpace, with a mere one per cent preferring Bebo or Friends Reunited.
Trenton Moss, director at Webcredible, pointed out that the nature of these sites invites people to learn how to use them effectively as they are designed to be used during free time.
This is in comparison with other sites that are accessed for a particular purpose - for example purchasing goods - where people are generally less willing to take the time to learn how to use them properly.
"Now with over 400 million users, Facebook is the most used social network in the world. Its users have learnt to use it and they use it a lot, hence they consider it easy to use," said Moss.
"If someone who had never used a social-networking site before were to use these sites for the first time and then compare the usability, the results may not come out the same," he continued.
