Stefnumot is icelandic social dating site.
During the first month after its deployment it attracted more than 2000 users.
This powerful network is developed using Dolphin - Smart Community Builder which is a ready-made solution for networking sites and allows flexible adjustment for different needs. Also Ray - Community Widget Suite and Orca - Interactive Forum Script are heavily used along with php, js-ajax, java and xslt template engine.
The original framework was adjusted to particular client’s needs. User profiles have extensive functionality and allow uploading, sharing and storing of photos & videos, blogging, events, calendars, forum, etc. When registering user fills in a large form set by admin. This data enables conducting flexible search of other members by needed parameters. The site has a text chat feature, other chat versions, i.e. audio- and video chat are coming soon. User is able to tune their privacy as they wish, to share or to withhold information from other users. At the beginning they can consider several membership types: bronze, silver, gold and platinum that give different opportunities to their owners. The site is populated with various widgets like the ones used for listening/editing/uploading audio files. User can add tags to every element of the site.
The message sending system has been changed and adjusted to common Facebook style, i.e. the messages look like a Facebook comment thread. Also some useful Facebook functionality to Dolphin basis was added, that is notification system, sending emails feature and so on.
The site possesses the powerful admin console that gives opportunity to edit almost all functionality set. For instance being an admin you can build pages yourself - you may change the layout moving blocks on the page; edit application form users fill in at the very beginning, deny publishing certain photos or comments, change notification/email options, etc, etc.
This site gave birth to other four social networks that were specifically oriented on various target audiences. |
